Getting closer to the Yeti at 360° Leti, Ladakh, North India

If you fancy a adventure travel that gets you closer to Yeti’s (the mythical abominable snowman of the Himalayas) habitat, yet you disdain the lack of tasteful and luxe accommodation, then you’ll be tempted to stay posted to hear the challenge of reaching 360° Leti, an utterly nirvana-esque eco-resort high in the Himalayas. A true adventure that promises a reward like no other. Blissfully clean fresh air and jaw-dropping vistas of snow-capped mountain ranges.

First you fly to New Delhi, India, take the overnight train, followed by a 9-hour car journey, topped with about 2 hours of trekking on foot, along a mountainous goat track. And low and behold, there in the farthest corner on the world’s rooftop, 8,000 feet in the Himalayan foothills, you’ll find 4 eco-chic modern cottages, done in dry-stone walls, teakwood, glass and brass. Almost sounds as if you’ve stumbled upon the Post Inn Ranch in Northern California. But you’re definitely in Yeti-land!
We can imagine few things more grand than a cross-continental escape to the Himalayas. As if the setting weren’t enough, the 360° Leti Resort is a breathtaking project 7,545 feet above sea level, built into a terraced landscape (more pictures after the jump).
The resort is located about 5 and a half miles from the nearest road, and is accessed by a walking path, making it a high-end hike-to destination.
Comprised of 5 freestanding structures, there are 4 cottages available for rent, with a shared dining room and living room in the fifth building.

The water for the resort is heated with solar power, and the project was constructed using local techniques.
