The YAS Hotel in Abu Dhabi, UAE was recently completed, and its curvilinear grid-shell which is covered with over 5,300 diamond-shaped steel panels, containing nearly 5,000 LED (Light Emitting Diode) fixtures, is being announced as the world’s largest LED project controlled through RDM (Remote Device Management).

This futuristic hotel was designed by Asymptote Architecture. New York-based lighting designers Arup Lighting worked with Germany-based e:cue lighting control to create lighting effects such as color-changing light sequences, and to play customized three dimensional low-resolution video content, on the grid-shell.
