Sleek & Chic | The Loft Hotel, Montreal, Canada

August 27, 2010

The über chic Loft Hotel in downtown Montreal, is situated in one of Montreal’s last remaining Art Deco landmarks. As with any structure with the name “Loft” in it, big boxy rooms with high ceilings are a given, affording views of the world’s second largest French-speaking city after Paris.

Each suite at The Loft Hotel features spacious layouts with hardwood floors and high ceilings. All lofts have a living area with modern furniture and a fully equipped kitchen. Media entertainment includes free Wi-Fi, a 40-inch flat-screen TV and iPod docking station.

The Loft is conveniently located in the heart of Montreal. Universite’ de Montreal (University of Montreal) is 3 miles away, and both Parc du Mont-Royal and  Stade Percival (Molson Stadium) are a 10-minute drive away.

The Loft Hotel has some “lofty” architectural heritage. Completed in 1920 by Montreal’s preeminent architect, Ernest Cormier, the building is one of the city’s enduring Art Deco landmarks.

Over the years, The Loft has been reincarnated from a few different purposes, from Montreal’s first underground parking garage (le Montée du Zouave of the Motordrome), to a storage space for Canadian Armed Forces tanks, and, perhaps most suitably, an “inspirational environment” for artists. With its rich history and great beauty now fully restored, The Loft Hotel is sure to mesmerize as modern yet cozy accommodations.

Unlike most downtown hotels, that have limited meeting and convention space, The Loft hotel also has venue space ranging from small meeting rooms to 5,500 square feet space for larger events.
