Sleek & Chic Afloat | RV Paukan, Myanmar

September 21, 2011

Built in 2007, the RV Paukan is a charming cruising boutique hotel that plies the waters from Bagan to Mandalay. Paukan itself is the ancient name of Bagan, the old city of two thousand temples on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River. Accommodating up to 55 passengers, looked after by a crew of 30, each of the teak-walled cabins and suites are furnished in colonial and traditional Myanmar style.

The recommended accommodations are the Deluxe Cabins which come with a French balcony and sliding windows for spectacular views of the river, or splash out on one of the beautiful Suites at the bow. Whilst on-board, you can dine in style at the restaurant, have a drink in the Saloon Bar, watch the world go by from the sundeck or relax with a Burmese-style massage.
